Week 13 Notes
Lots of incredible racing efforts to celebrate from the weekend! The coaches are proud of all the athletes for all the work you've been putting in since June and we hope that you can recognize some of your hardwork starting to pay off. Plenty of racing left!

Be prepared for some kind of lightning delay tomorrow afternoon. We are going to be optimistic and hope that the thunderstorms are after 5 p.m. but we will see. The plan is for Boelé to meet us at DeKoevend, but if it is unsafe to be outside then we would most likely move to Vista for treatment. As a reminder, Rouse and Boelé will stay as late as needed for anyone that wants treatment to receive it. Please bring a snack for after your run so that you aren't hungry and miserable while waiting for your turn to see Boelé.

Our Annual Elementary Feeder Race registration is LIVE. We have sent out flyers to MVHS feeder schools, but spread the word if you know any families in the community that might be interested.

Week 12 Notes

First race of the season is in the books! The coaches were proud of everyone for suiting up and shaking the rust off.  No matter how you thought you raced, I hope that everyone can take away something they thought they did well and one thing that they think they can improve on over the coming weeks.

We are going to be optimistic and hope for good weather this week, but it looks like there is a chance of Thunderstorms Mon/Tues/Wed. We will be pretty quick to send everyone to treadmills on Mon/Wed so that you have plenty of time to get the Long Run or workout in. Thank you in advance for your flexibility, and we'll see what happens.

Boelé is still planning on coming down tomorrow afternoon. In the event that we send you to the treadmills, you can come back to Vista after your run for treatment.

Week 10 Notes
This Monday will mark the beginning of the CHSAA season. We are keeping Mon/Tues practice in the AM to avoid the heat. If you are unable to make morning please get the runs in on your own. Athletes please be prepared for storms Wed/Thurs/Fri. We won't keep anyone beyond 5 p.m. even if there are any lightning delays that keep us inside for the beginning of practice. If it's bad enough we will dismiss everyone from practice to go run inside on a treadmill at a gym or rec center.

Please make sure you have the following items for practice. Fall practice will operate just like summer practices, just in the afternoon.

- Running Shoes
- Water Bottle
- Appropriate Running Clothes
- Running Watch (Bonus)

Please make sure you're hydrating and fueling appropriately throughout the school day. No food and water all day is a recipe for a disaster when you're running in afternoon heat. Switching to afternoon runs can screw up your routines from the summer, and may require some trial and error.

For those of you bringing an extra bag for running clothes and shoes you can drop them off in either Coach Brandt's classroom (U310) or Selle's classroom at the beginning of the day and then collect them at the end of the day.

We typically don't use the locker rooms to change out before practice. You can use any bathroom in MVHS that you feel comfortable changing in. Please be changed and be at the track by 3:10 every day that we are on-campus.
