Congratulations on a great state meet performance Vista Nation! Our girls finished 9th in possibly one of the toughest 5A girls fields ever put together in Colorado. The boys won their 3rd consecutive state championship becoming one of only a handful of schools in the history of CO HS XC to do so. A big thank you goes out to everyone that came out to support the TEAM yesterday. Without a doubt, we were the best represented TEAM in the state yesterday with our fans. We couldn't have done it without you! Here is the recap of the meet along with results, pictures, video, etc.

Banquet Reminder
Our end of the season banquet is being held on the evening of Friday, November 7th. This is for all XC families. Please be on the lookout for an email from Kimmy Romine about food and drink sign-up sometime later this week.

Time Off, Track, and Winter/Spring Sports
If your season is officially over I would like for you to take 2 full weeks off from running. This is to help you recharge both physically and mentally after a long XC season. Once you have taken your 2 weeks off you can rejoin the team during normal practices, or continue to run on your own until we officially begin track training in January.

For those athletes not playing a spring sport I strongly encourage you to come out for track this year. Running track will help you to continue to develop as a distance runner in preparation for next XC season. In turn, running XC makes you a much better track athlete. There will be a pre-season track meeting on Wednesday, November 19th after school at 3:00. We will cover off season workouts and what the upcoming track season will look like.  Off season track workouts during December, January and February will look a lot like our summer conditioning program only with warmer clothes!

If you are in a winter or spring sport other than our off-season conditioning or track and field programs you have my full support! There is no pressure from the coaching staff to choose track over something else that you love to do. I will be happy to sit down with you and talk about how you can stay in running shape if you are playing another sport if you would like to come talk with me about it. My only request is that if you are playing another sport that you let me and Selle both know what your game/competition schedule is so that we can come out and cheer you on!

Nike Cross Country Regionals
For those athletes going on to NXR we will have practice as normal for the next 4 weeks. John Walton will be in contact with you about the details of the trip if he has not already. If you need to email him here is the address:
jwalton@risasdental.com

Congratulations Vista Nation on a great League performance! 4 months ago at our goal setting BBQ one of our biggest goals was to win all 6 races at the Continental League Championships. On Thursday last week, in less than ideal conditions, you accomplished that goal. I am very proud of what you accomplished at Leagues last week. There are 85 runners on the TEAM and it took 85 athletes working towards the same goal in order to accomplish it. Well done! Here are the results and some pretty awesome pictures from the meet.
