ThunderRidge JV Meet
When: Thursday, March 30th @ 3:30 p.m.
Where: ThunderRidge HS Track
Teams Competing: Regis, Vista, and ThunderRidge

Out-of-Class: Athletes scheduled to compete will be dismissed from class at 2 p.m. on Thursday. However, you can stay until the end of 6th period if you do not need to leave early for warm-ups.

Niwot Invitational 
When: Saturday​, April 1st
Where: Niwot High School
Transportation: There is no bus for this meet. Please provide your own ride to and from Niwot HS.
Arrival Time: Be at the meet at least 90 minutes before your first scheduled event. Two hours is better if running later in the day. This meet will run ahead of schedule if possible.

​Warm-Ups
    • Warm-ups will take place on our lower campus. Click here for a map of warm-up locations. Warm-ups will not be allowed on the infield. 
Weigh-ins
  • Pole Vault, Shot, and Disc Weigh-ins will all take place at their respective event areas, a map can be found here.
  • Team Camps will be located on our lower campus. You can see a map of where team camps can be located by clicking here. 
Admission
  • There is a one-time entry fee:  $6 for adults, and $5 for students. CHSAA and CHSCA passes will be accepted.
  • Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here.
Parking
  • After dropping teams off, buses should park at Rocky Mountain Christian Church (9447 Niwot Rd, Longmont, CO 80503). You can click here to see directions to and a map of Rocky Mountain Christian Church.

State 5A Rankings
In-order to qualify for state, athletes/relays must be in the top 18 in their event by the end of the regular season (May 13th). Here are the current 5A Rankings for 2023.
  • Boys 5A Rankings: 2023
  • Girls 5A Rankings: 2023
  • Rankings can also be found on Colorado Milesplit. However, these rankings are not official. 

Program Fee/Fundraising

  • Why: There are currently 150 athletes out for track and field this spring. As a result, we have hired 8 coaches. DCSD provides six coaching stipends for the spring track & field season. This is two fewer stipends than we currently have. To ensure all of our athletes have proper coaching we are asking every family on the team to make a small donation to the Track & Field Booster Club.
  • Program Fee Recommendations:
    • $50 recommended donation to help compensate our assistant coaches for the 2023 spring season. 
    • $150 recommended for athletes that are consistently seeing Coach Boele for massage therapy on Tuesdays.
    • Other Amount: Any amount to help support the program is greatly appreciated if you are unable to afford the recommended donation amounts. Likewise, if you would like to donate more your support is always valued. 
  • Fundraising Goal for 2023: $7000 will cover the cost of the two assistant coaching stipends that DCSD does not cover for the track and field program this season.

Congrats to both our boys and girls teams at Vista for winning this year's Continental League Relays! Results and team scores from the event can be found below. Thank you to all of the parents, coaches, and athletes that came out to help on Saturday as we hosted the first League meet of the season.

Parents/Spectators on the Infield at Meets
This is a reminder that all parents and spectators should remain in the stands (or designated spectating areas) during track and field meets. Failure to comply can result in track meet officials disqualifying our athletes/team from events at meets. The infield is reserved for coaches, athletes, and meet officials only. Thank you for your cooperation. 

Spring Break Practice Information

  • Throwers: Coach Tapia will be communicating with you when throwing practices will be held this week.

LPS Duals Meet Information
When: Saturday​, March 18th
Where: Arapahoe High School 
Entries: We are allowed 4 entries into each individual event + 1 relay team into this meet. 

Transportation: There is no bus for this meet. Please provide your own ride to and from the meet.
Arrival Time: Please be at the meet no later than 9 a.m. 

Spectator Fee: Free
Awards: Event Champion Shirts for all event winners including relays.  
Rolling Schedule: This meet is run on a rolling schedule. Make sure you are paying attention to where the meet is on the schedule as the day goes on.

Texas Distance Festival: Final Instructions

  • Team Pre-Meet Run: Athletes wanting to do their pre-meet run together will meet at Bob Jones Park at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 17th, 
  • Meet Location: Carroll High School (800 North White Chapel Southlake, TX 76092)
  • Bib Pickup & Meet Entry Fee: Once you arrive to the meet there will be a check in gate for athletes only. Every athletes will need to pay the $15 meet entry fee ($$bring cash$$).  At this time each runner will receive a bib for entry onto the track. Please pin the bib immediately onto your uniform. Each bib has race chips on them to track splits (please don’t bend these bibs)
  • Spectator Gate: There will be a spectator entry gate: $3 entry fee per person (bring cash).
  • Race check in: Runners will check in 10 minutes before their race begins at the starting line. Runner’s check in time is listed on the Schedule. Bibs must be on & NO WATCHES ALLOWED DURING RACES. You will start lining up in section order about 10 minutes before your race begins(this meet will stay on schedule).
  • NO FOOD or DRINKS on the turf field.
  • Livestream- The Texas Distance Festival will be live-streamed through milesplit: Live Link
  • Timing/Results:  Live results posted at Results Link
  • Meet updates: Will be sent out and through twitter  - @carrollcxc
  • Meet T-Shirts: For sale for $20 and a concession stand as well. Go to the meet and get your shirt on Friday. Sizes sell out fast and are usually gone by Saturday afternoon.

Jeff Boele: Licensed Massage Therapist
When:
 Tuesday's at practice throughout the season.
Why: To benefit individual athlete health during the Track season.
Who: Anyone on the team needing work done during the season. 
Cost: Approximately $5000 for the season (January through May). We are asking that any athlete consistently using coach Boele's services to please make a minimum donation of $150 to the Booster Club in the spring. The 2023 track and field program donation fee link will be available in February near the official start of the spring CHSAA season. 
Consent Form: Any athlete wishing to receive treatment from Coach Boele must have the consent form signed by your parents and brought to practice.

Playoff Basketball Game: Friday @ 4 p.m.
Our boys basketball team has made the final four of the state championship tournament and plays Denver East on Friday at 4 p.m. This is a big deal! The coaches are encouraging the track team to go and support the basketball team. We will still have practice on Friday, however, if you are going to the game (and we think you should!) please touch base with your event coach. They will tell you what workout you need to do on your own that day if you are headed to the Coliseum for the game.

Texas Distance Festival: Meet Information
  • Vista Athletes Registered (If you are not on the list and are planning on competing in Texas over spring break please let Coach Dalby know ASAP).

Uniform Checkout:
  • When: Wednesday, March 7th after practice. You can also come to Dalby's room in L503 during Eagle Time on Thursday if you miss uniform checkout. 
  • Where: L503
  • Uniforms will be checked out to each athlete on the team. They will be returned at the end of the season, on Monday, May 22.
  • Athletes will be fined $75 for not returning uniforms at the end of the track season.

  • Distance Runners: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. during break

  • Throwers: TBD (Coach Tapia will let you know at practice this week what time you will be practicing)

Academic Eligibility
  • In order to be eligible for track and field this season athletes must be passing all classes. 
  • ​A failing grade in any class will result in an athlete loosing eligibility. 
  • To return to eligibility, athletes must pick up a "gold card" from the athletic office and have it signed by your teacher once your grade has improved to passing (60% or above). 
  • Once signed by your teacher, "Gold Cards" must be returned to Mrs. Vitry in the athletic office. She will communicate with Coach Dalby once you are eligible to return to competition.
