Gunnison Camping Trip Update

Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park

We have 47 athletes, 9 parents and 2 coaches headed to Gunnison for this years camping trip. Below are a few details and reminders of things you need to know before we leave on the 18th.

What: 5th Anual Vista Nation XC Camping Trip

When: July 18th-20th
                  We will leave from Vista at noon on Thursday July 18th and return around   
                   2:00  Saturday Afternoon (July 20th)

Where: Gunnison, CO

Transportation: Athletes will be riding to Gunnison with an adult. Athletes should not drive themselves or other teammates. Please show up at Vista at noon and we will load your stuff up in a parent car and make sure you have a ride to Gunnison. I am renting a minivan (possibly 2) for additional space to make sure we get everyone to Gunnison safely. 

Campground: Gunnison KOA (Campground phone number 970-641-1358)

Cost: $55 per camper (payment due before we leave)

              This will cover the cost of camping, gas, food and entrance into Black Canyon of 
              the Gunnison National Park. Please bring your payment to coach Dalby at practice before July 18th. 

What to Bring: Bring plenty of clothes, running gear, swimming trunks, sleeping bag, toiletries, pillows, and money for lunches with you. Pack light, we have to fit 4-5 athletes in most cars going down. 

Tents: You are responsible for either brining a tent with you to sleep in, or making arrangements with another member of the team whose tent you can stay in. 

Food: Food will be provided for athletes at dinner on Thursday, Breakfast and dinner on Friday, and Breakfast on Saturday.

I have emailed everyone the camper and parent list of those going. I have attached cell phone numbers for everyone to have in case of an emergency.
