Matt Tegenkamp, 2012 10,000 meter Olympian.

Our good friend Matt Tegenkamp, who visited us at practice last fall, made the Olympic team last night for the 2nd time in his career. I was fortunate enough to be able to fly out to Oregon to be at the race. Matt's time of 27:33 was good enough for second place and went under the old Olympic Trials 10k meet record. That's just under 4:30 pace for over 6 miles! There are still lots of great races ahead over the next week, most of which will be televised. There are some great interviews and race footage out there of the 10K as well for anyone that wants to see.

Mon 6/25-MVHS Track 7 to 8:30 a.m.
Tue 6/26-Rocky Heights Middle School 7 to 8:30 a.m.
Wed 6/27-The Bluffs Regional Park 7 to 8:30 a.m.
Thur 6/28-MVHS Track 7 to 8:30 a.m.
                           Einstein Bagles off of Broadway and Highlands Ranch Parkway after run. 
                           Bring $$$ to East
Fri 6/29-Audubon Center at Chatfield State Park Run 7 a.m. to 8:30.  
                       Directions: Take c470 to Wadsworth (Hwy 121). Go south 4.4 miles on 
                           Wadsworth and turn left on Waterton Rd. Immediately turn left into the 
                           Audubon Center parking lot (free lot). 
Sat 6/30-Run on your own or with a teammate. See mileage schedule for distance. 
Sun 7/1-Optional run on your own or with a teammate.

HRCA 4th of July 5K
For those of you that will be in town over the 4th of July we are going to try and get as many of you out running the HRCA 4th of July 5K as we can. This is a very low key run, in fact we are even going to encourage you to dress up! Our theme for the meet will be "Vista Nation XC" and "America". Prizes to the person with the best outfit to run in. If you have not signed up already here is the link to the race information:
